Just before Christmas, Powertherm was asked to support urgent access works following a major sinkhole at a canal in Whitchurch, which later made national news.
With the incident threatening the local water supply, our teams moved quickly to put essential scaffolding in place, helping other contractors carry out critical repairs safely and without delay.
Here’s what we delivered:
๐ด Scaffold access over the canal and pipework
๐ด Stairwell access into adjacent fields
๐ด Livestock and footbridge access using tube & fitting
๐ด Additional access routes across the site
๐ด A pipe rack system to protect vital pipework
Using a mix of system scaffold and tube & fitting, the access was designed to suit the challenging site conditions.
Working across multiple shifts – including night work – the scaffolding was completed within 3 days, well ahead of the 5-day programme, with teams remaining available over the Christmas period.
A big thank you to the teams โ including the locals ๐ โย involved for their professionalism and commitment throughout the project!
