Powertherm has successfully completed a multidiscipline industrial services package at Oswestry Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW), supporting the upgrade of critical water treatment infrastructure.
Working as a single contractor, Powertherm delivered scaffolding access, thermal insulation, electrical trace heating and bespoke flexible insulation solutions across multiple areas of the site.
The project included the installation of a 300m independent pipe bridge, approximately 150 scaffold structures at peak, 370 linear metres of thermal insulation and cladding, and more than 2,000 linear metres of trace heating to provide frost protection to critical process systems.
A key challenge involved eight dosing lines within a restricted 900mm-wide pipe rack. Powertherm developed an engineered solution using trace heating and a bespoke flexible insulation enclosure, reducing installation time by approximately 50% compared with insulating each line individually.
The project also included the manufacture and installation of 680+ bespoke insulation jackets and enclosures, providing thermal protection while maintaining access for future inspection and maintenance.
The completed works demonstrate Powertherm’s ability to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary solutions for complex water treatment projects.
