WINTERISATION – Trace Heating

Protect Your Operations Today 🛡️

Before winter conditions arrive, trace heating frost protection systems must undergo a thorough Winterisation check, including visual inspections and electrical testing, to ensure the system will operate as expected and protect your operations.

In addition, the associated insulation system must also undergo a visual inspection. The insulation system must be rectified if signs of degradation are found, such as damaged cladding or open seams, leaving the system open to the effects of the surrounding environment.

Our service:

👀 Visual inspection

– Assess the cable and cable gland for any damage.

– Examine the junction box for moisture ingress.

– Check terminal tightness and verify correct connections.

🔌 Electrical testing

– Conduct continuity tests, checking for open circuits or low resistance, record results and compare with the previous year’s results.

– Perform resistance tests, record results, and compare data with the previous results.

Checking against previous results can identify any malfunctions in heating elements BEFORE they occur.

Following the completion of the Winterisation checks, a schedule of the circuits tested and results are issued along with a list of remedial works.
